About the role

Responsibilities

  • Deliver thought leadership, cutting-edge analytics, and model policies regarding SME and enterprise development, business regulations, and ease of doing business.
  • Lead the Policy and Regulations unit to drive innovation and frontier approaches in core topic areas.
  • Manage and inspire a diverse, multi-location technical team, supporting their professional development and career planning.
  • Ensure alignment between the Policy and Regulations team and the Solutions and Impact team to scale and replicate innovations.
  • Oversee knowledge management activities, including the curation and dissemination of technical information and contributions to Data360.
  • Manage unit resources, including human and budget allocations, to ensure high-quality, cost-effective delivery of the work program.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders and external partners to position the SME and enterprise development agenda globally.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. (preferred) or Master's degree in economics, international development, business, or a related field.
  • At least 12 years of relevant experience in positions of increasing complexity and responsibility.
  • Recognized international thought leadership in SME/enterprise development, firm productivity, or investment policy.
  • Proven experience managing multi-location teams with diverse professional backgrounds.
  • Experience working in at least two different world regions or a combination of regional and corporate assignments.
  • Deep knowledge of World Bank Group operations, instruments, and processes (including IBRD, IFC, and MIGA).
  • Strong strategic orientation and ability to navigate complex institutional settings and budget/HR management systems.
