About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations of primary and secondary packaging, including bottle filling, capping, labeling, cartoning, and case packing.
- Ensure all packaging operations comply with cGMP requirements and maintain inspection readiness for regulatory audits.
- Manage line performance to meet throughput, schedule, and quality targets.
- Partner with QA on batch record reviews, deviations, CAPAs, and investigations.
- Oversee equipment lifecycle management, including commissioning, qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), and validation activities.
- Lead and develop a cross-functional team of operators, mechanics, and support staff.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on OEE, yield, and changeover efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- 5+ years of GMP pharmaceutical packaging operations experience.
- Proven experience with automated packaging lines and serialization systems.
- Direct people leadership and supervision experience.
- Experience managing deviations, CAPAs, and investigations.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex priorities under tight timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree with 4+ years of GMP pharmaceutical packaging experience.
- Experience with startup or facility build-out environments.
- Experience in high-mix/low-volume manufacturing.
- Lean or Six Sigma certification.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet) and document management systems (e.g., Veeva Vault).
