Manager, Small Molecule Packaging

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of primary and secondary packaging, including bottle filling, capping, labeling, cartoning, and case packing.
• Ensure all packaging operations comply with cGMP requirements and maintain inspection readiness for regulatory audits.
• Manage line performance to meet throughput, schedule, and quality targets.
• Partner with QA on batch record reviews, deviations, CAPAs, and investigations.
• Oversee equipment lifecycle management, including commissioning, qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), and validation activities.
• Lead and develop a cross-functional team of operators, mechanics, and support staff.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on OEE, yield, and changeover efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• 5+ years of GMP pharmaceutical packaging operations experience.
• Proven experience with automated packaging lines and serialization systems.
• Direct people leadership and supervision experience.
• Experience managing deviations, CAPAs, and investigations.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex priorities under tight timelines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree with 4+ years of GMP pharmaceutical packaging experience.
• Experience with startup or facility build-out environments.
• Experience in high-mix/low-volume manufacturing.
• Lean or Six Sigma certification.
• Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet) and document management systems (e.g., Veeva Vault).
