Manager, SAP Financial Applications

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of IT staff responsible for developing and operating the SAP Financial Information System (FIS) and related non-SAP financial solutions.
• Lead the team in evaluating, designing, and implementing solution enhancements from the perspective of Financial Services and other stakeholders.
• Review and approve all SAP configuration and programming for FIS/SA and related financial systems.
• Provide input into the functional and architectural design of the University's financial systems.
• Coordinate project team members by estimating work, assigning tasks, setting priorities, and reviewing performance.
• Develop processes and procedures to manage system changes, including upgrades and new software implementations.
• Evaluate change requests to determine feasibility, impact, and required resources.
• Define staff roles and responsibilities based on individual skills and project requirements.

Requirements

• University degree or equivalent combination of formal education and experience; a degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred.
• At least five years of experience with SAP.
• At least five years of experience in project management, business analysis, or software development.
• Proven supervisory and HR management experience, ideally in a unionized environment.
• Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated experience in change management and testing protocols for large-scale system development.
• Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing systems within a public sector institution, such as a college, university, or hospital.
