Manager, Risk Governance and Controls

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an effective internal control framework to manage and monitor governance across the business portfolio
• Act as a trusted advisor to assigned business groups, influencing and negotiating to achieve business objectives
• Lead the development and maintenance of the internal controls governance system and framework
• Identify, classify, and recommend action plans for emerging issues and trends
• Perform testing on the design of controls through observation, inspection, and recalculation to ensure effectiveness
• Represent the internal control governance program during internal and external regulatory audits and examinations
• Coordinate the management of databases and ensure alignment with data governance standards
• Build and execute change management plans, including stakeholder management and readiness assessments
• Monitor, measure, and report on the status of the internal controls governance framework to stakeholders

Requirements

• 5-7 years of relevant experience in risk management, audit, compliance, governance, or project management
• Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS9, CECL, and Risk Appetite
• Experience with SOX 404, COBIT, and COSO frameworks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• In-depth verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders
