About the role

About the Company

Radiant is an El Segundo, CA-based startup building the world’s first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. The company’s first reactor, Kaleidos, is a 1-megawatt, fail-safe microreactor designed to provide critical power to hospitals, data centers, and military bases.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer relationships, coordinating interactions, tracking deliverables, and ensuring contract compliance
  • Own end-to-end licensing execution efforts, from detailed safety analysis to physical protection plans
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies to drive project execution and authorization
  • Oversee technical team execution, including design reviews and regulatory/quality documentation
  • Proactively review engineering decisions to ensure adherence to novel and efficient licensing paths

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (nuclear, mechanical, electrical, computer science, or similar)
  • 5 years of experience in a regulated industry, preferably nuclear programs regulated by the NRC or DOE
  • Experience interfacing with, interpreting, and implementing regulatory requirements
  • Excellent verbal, written, and negotiation communication skills
  • Ability to work in uncertainty on first-of-a-kind projects
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as necessary
  • Must work 100% onsite at El Segundo HQ

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of the engineering design process in fast-paced or agile hardware environments
  • Experience in emergency preparedness, fire protection, safety analysis, or radiation protection
  • Strong engineering fundamentals with the ability to translate system design into license applications
