Manager, Regulatory Compliance

Responsibilities

• Manage regulatory compliance components of license authorization processes to support group expansion
• Act as a key stakeholder for license applications, business plan updates, and regulator information requests
• Ensure regulatory compliance and integrity risk reporting obligations are maintained in Vietnam
• Advise the business on regulatory change initiatives and the management of compliance risks associated with new laws
• Develop policies, processes, and guidance regarding regulatory risk obligations for first-line business units
• Manage regulatory compliance risk within the Airwallex Risk Management Framework and escalation processes
• Deliver the Compliance Monitoring Program through targeted and thematic reviews
• Conduct compliance training for employees and specific business areas as required

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years of compliance experience in a regulated financial institution, FinTech, or legal/consulting firm
• Familiarity with financial regulatory laws, rules, and industry best practices in Vietnam and the broader Asia region
• Data proficiency with the ability to leverage data for strategic decision-making
• Superior communication skills to explain complex topics to regulators, executive leadership, and staff
• Experience developing or maintaining compliance programs, preferably regarding payment activities
• Exposure to licensing processes, regulatory expansion, and technology-driven compliance solutions
• Strong understanding of financial products, conduct risk, ethics, and controls

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience dealing directly with the State Bank of Vietnam and other regional financial services regulators
