Manager, R&D Thought Leadership and Reputation

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute integrated external communications strategies to strengthen R&D reputation and advance scientific narratives.
• Translate complex scientific topics into compelling stories for use across corporate websites, social media, and communication campaigns.
• Identify and secure speaking engagements, media opportunities, and events for R&D functional leaders.
• Prepare spokespeople with briefing documents and message maps to position leaders as industry authorities.
• Lead project management for reputation-building campaigns, including content planning, reviews, and approvals.
• Oversee external PR agencies and vendors to ensure quality, budget adherence, and timeline integration.
• Define measurement plans and dashboards to optimize content and demonstrate communication impact.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 7+ years of professional experience in strategic corporate healthcare communications.
• Exceptional writing, storytelling, and editing skills with the ability to simplify complex science.
• Proven expertise in project management and leading multiple initiatives in a matrixed environment.
• Experience managing social media campaigns, specifically on LinkedIn.
• Ability to work onsite at least four days per week in Sleepy Hollow, NY or Tarrytown, NY.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology communications.
• Previous experience working within an agency environment.
