Manager, Quality Control Lab

Responsibilities

• Own daily operations and long-term scheduling for the QC Inspection team
• Act as the primary technical advisor for the lab, resolving measurement strategy and equipment issues
• Establish and enforce engineering standards, lab safety protocols, and validation methods (IQ/OQ/PQ)
• Provide accurate turnaround times (TAT) to Program Managers and stakeholders
• Architect and maintain KPIs such as Backlog Aging, Cycle Time, and First-Pass Yield
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and professional growth of the QC team
• Ensure the lab is audit-ready for ISO 9001 and AS9100
• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Digital teams to integrate inspection data with MES/ERP

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Quality Control, Metrology, or Inspection in high-precision manufacturing
• 3+ years of formal management experience managing multi-shift technical teams
• Mastery of GD&T and advanced metrology equipment (CMM, GOM/Blue Light, NDT)
• Experience with budgeting and staffing for departmental costs
• Deep understanding of ISO 9001 or AS9100 requirements
• Ability to translate complex quality data into actionable narratives for senior management

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience scaling a QC lab in a high-growth startup environment
• Certification in Lean Six Sigma or experience with 5S/Kaizen
• Experience with metal Additive Manufacturing (AM) inspection
• Familiarity with automating inspection data workflows
