Manager, Quality Assurance

Responsibilities

• Manage plant laboratory operations, including equipment availability and supply management
• Ensure product safety and regulatory compliance with company standards and food safety programs
• Drive continuous improvement efforts regarding product quality and process optimization
• Lead, coach, and train management staff and plant employees on Quality Assurance protocols
• Oversee quality control systems, including hold programs, traceability, and environmental monitoring
• Review analytical testing results and maintain the nutritional database system
• Supervise chemical, bacteriological, sensory, and antibiotic testing on raw materials and products
• Act as the primary liaison for local, state, federal, and third-party audits and inspections
• Manage department expenses, labor, and cost of quality using continuous improvement techniques
• Ensure proper sanitation procedures are followed and troubleshoot system failures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a science-based area of study
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Working knowledge of sanitation systems, techniques, and procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to support plant operations
