About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead project controls tasks for the Nuclear Island scope, ensuring compliance with Aecon standards and contract documents.
- Establish and maintain integrated project controls systems, including cost and schedule baselines.
- Manage a team of specialists in planning, scheduling, cost control, change management, and risk management.
- Oversee analysis and reporting of key performance metrics (CPI, SPI, etc.) and implement Earned Value Management plans.
- Develop project-specific change management and project controls plans.
- Support Project Managers in tracking project health and provide commercial expertise for subcontractor and client claims.
- Lead project-level recruitment and resource planning for the Project Controls team.
Requirements
- 10-15 years of related experience in project controls.
- Post-Secondary Degree in Quantitative, Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Experience with EPC Contractors (Self-Perform) and construction field environments.
- Proven experience managing mega-projects or large portfolios.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel and Primavera P6.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDE) and Cost Management/Estimating systems (e.g., Hard Dollar, EcoSys, PRISM).
- PMI or AACE Certification.
- Ability to meet mandated nuclear export control requirements and pass a comprehensive security clearance process.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Bruce Power security clearance is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in claims avoidance and negotiation.
