Manager Procurement

Responsibilities

• Drive procurement excellence for Bakersfield and Tulare locations, ensuring optimal service and quality
• Lead supplier negotiations and manage contract lifecycles to secure competitive pricing
• Partner with R&D to source and cost materials for product briefs and develop preferred supplier lists
• Monitor market trends and influences to identify new product ideas and cost-saving opportunities
• Maintain accurate pricing within ERP systems and adhere to global purchasing policies
• Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to manage new contracts and improve product margins
• Conduct regular factory visits to engage with line managers regarding supplier performance and operational issues

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, Food Science, or a related field
• 3+ years of procurement or supply chain experience within food manufacturing (dairy or frozen products preferred)
• 3+ years of people-management or team leadership experience
• Proven track record of sourcing food ingredients and packaging materials
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and contract management skills
• Working knowledge of ERP systems, such as JDE

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certification such as CPSM, CPIM, or CSCP
• Experience with cold-chain logistics and managing shelf-life-sensitive materials
• Familiarity with sustainability and ethical sourcing initiatives
• Experience supporting SQF, BRC, ISO, or FDA audits
