About the role

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full procurement lifecycle, including vendor onboarding, contract tracking, and compliance with University and sponsor policies.
  • Manage international bank account reconciliation processes, ensuring all transactions are verified and posted to the general ledger.
  • Conduct monthly quality assurance reviews of bank reconciliations submitted by Global Centers to maintain internal controls.
  • Monitor purchasing transactions and change orders to prevent service disruptions or compliance lapses.
  • Reconcile Purchasing Card (P-Card) transactions and assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
  • Serve as a primary financial resource and trainer for unit staff on procurement procedures and financial policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, procurement, accounting, or international banking operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with sponsored project procurement and grant compliance (federal, foundation, or international).
  • Familiarity with Columbia University financial systems (ARC, FDS, PAC, FFE, and FinSys).
  • Experience in global, complex, or decentralized organizational environments.
  • Knowledge of international bank reconciliation and foreign exchange risk monitoring.
