Manager, Plant Human Resources

Responsibilities

• Manage the plant human resources function, including administration of wage, salary, and benefit programs.
• Oversee staffing needs through succession planning, recruiting, selection, and placement.
• Maintain a safe work environment by facilitating safety meetings, performing inspections, and investigating accidents.
• Ensure compliance with governmental regulations and laws regarding fair employment practices, EEOC, ADA, and Affirmative Action.
• Administer collective bargaining agreements and manage labor relations, including grievance resolution and arbitration.
• Coordinate training programs, new employee orientations, and maintain personnel records such as merit reviews and disciplinary actions.
• Oversee Workers Compensation investigations and programs.

Requirements

• Broad training in a related field, typically acquired through college or work-related experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of job-related experience.
• Strong knowledge of HR legal practices, industrial relations, and business practices.
• Proven ability to handle sensitive and proprietary information with strict confidentiality.
• Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments, including exposure to occupational hazards like high noise levels.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience managing HR operations within a unionized environment.
• Experience with collective bargaining agreements and labor relations.
