Manager, Payroll APAC

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payroll processing for all Airbnb APAC entities including Singapore, Australia, Japan, South Korea, India, and China
• Manage employee lifecycle changes such as new hires, leavers, promotions, and compensation updates
• Serve as the regional subject matter expert for CloudPay and Workday configuration and data mapping
• Ensure the Workday–CloudPay integration operates accurately and resolve data discrepancies
• Maintain current knowledge of payroll legislation, tax law, and statutory filing requirements across APAC jurisdictions
• Manage relationships with in-country payroll vendors and third-party service providers
• Prepare and submit payroll reports, tax filings, and statutory payments to ensure audit readiness
• Partner with Talent, Finance, Global Mobility, and Tax functions to resolve payroll queries
• Identify and drive process improvement and automation opportunities across APAC payroll operations
• Act as backup to the India payroll Manager

Requirements

• 6–8+ years of payroll experience with 3–4 years in an APAC payroll management role
• Hands-on experience with CloudPay configuration and data mapping
• Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll or Workday HCM
• Deep knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory compliance across multiple APAC jurisdictions (Singapore essential)
• Experience managing in-country payroll vendors across the APAC region
• Strong analytical, process mapping, and procedural documentation skills
• Ability to manage confidential data with high integrity
• Strong written and oral communication skills for a distributed global team
