Manager of Special Events

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily logistical execution, staffing, and technical operations for events at the University Center, Performance Center, and Griffin Center
• Hire, train, mentor, and schedule a team consisting of one full-time staff member and 10-12 part-time student workers
• Provide audio-visual support, including setting up equipment for presentations, virtual meetings, and sound systems
• Coordinate event logistics including vendor relations, setup, management, and teardown
• Supervise event-related shuttle operations, including vehicle management and staff scheduling
• Ensure all event setups comply with ADA guidelines, fire code regulations, and University safety policies
• Maintain accurate inventory of audio-visual equipment, event supplies, and furnishings
• Collaborate with campus partners, including IT Technical Services and Dining Services, to ensure seamless event delivery

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 3-5 years of professional experience in event or conference management
• 2 years of supervisory experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in hospitality, event management, or a related field
• Experience in hotel or restaurant event support
