Manager of Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple software engineering teams within the Consumer & Community Banking division, managing day-to-day implementation and ensuring adherence to compliance standards.
• Provide guidance to software engineers on daily tasks, setting expectations for output, collaboration, and technical practices.
• Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices and SDLC/TLM automation to improve delivery speed and quality.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and anticipate dependencies with other teams to deliver products in line with business requirements.
• Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect within the engineering organization.

Requirements

• 5+ years of applied experience with Java concepts and formal training or certification.
• Proven experience in coaching and mentoring engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficiency in Java, SQL, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (including EC2, Lambda, ECS, EKS, S3, and SQS).
• Experience with RDBMS such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency in Cloud Infrastructure Provisioning tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Advanced understanding of Agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Experience leading the responsible adoption of AI-assisted development tools and understanding data sensitivity and governance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working directly at the code level.
• Practical experience with cloud-native architectures.
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
