Manager of Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple software engineering teams within the Consumer & Community Banking division, managing day-to-day implementation and ensuring adherence to compliance standards.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to software engineers on daily tasks and professional development.
• Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices and SDLC/TLM automation to improve delivery speed and quality.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and anticipate dependencies with other teams to deliver products in line with business requirements.
• Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect within the engineering organization.

Requirements

• 5+ years of applied experience with Java and formal training in Java concepts.
• Proven experience in coaching and mentoring engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficiency in Spring Boot, Microservices, and SQL.
• Extensive experience with AWS services including EC2, Lambda, ECS, EKS, and S3.
• Practical knowledge of RDBMS such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Cloud Infrastructure Provisioning tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Advanced understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Experience leading the responsible adoption of AI-assisted development tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working directly at the code level.
• Practical experience with cloud-native architectures.
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
