Manager of Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple software engineering teams within the Consumer and Community Banking division.
• Provide daily guidance, coaching, and mentorship to software engineers on tasks and activities.
• Manage day-to-day implementation, ensuring work adheres to compliance standards and business requirements.
• Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices and SDLC automation.
• Anticipate technical dependencies with other teams to ensure timely product delivery.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and maintain service level agreements (SLAs).
• Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect within the engineering organization.

Requirements

• 5+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training or certification.
• Proven experience in coaching and mentoring engineering teams.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot within microservices architectures.
• Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful web services and APIs.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and defining infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Practical knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Postgres, Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis).
• Experience with event streaming solutions such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Deep understanding of DevOps and SRE practices, including CI/CD and observability tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Cloud certification.
• Experience implementing observability using Splunk and Grafana.
• Expertise in performance tuning, capacity planning, and reliability engineering for high-throughput services.
• Familiarity with secure coding practices and threat modeling.
