Manager of R&D and Tech Services

Responsibilities

• Lead the R&D team through end-to-end activities from lead formulation development to manufacturing support and product launch
• Design experiments in laboratories and pilot plants to identify critical quality attributes and establish process control
• Develop and implement validation strategies for equipment, processes, cleaning, and systems in compliance with FDA guidelines
• Provide leadership to the validation team for process, cleaning, equipment, and computer systems validation
• Establish and refine manufacturing processes using statistical tools and scientific methods to optimize quality and cost
• Identify opportunities to optimize sterile/aseptic processes and lead continuous improvement initiatives
• Foster collaboration with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain departments
• Review technical reports, specifications, and maintain records for smooth technology transfer
• Troubleshoot manufacturing process problems using root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Supervise the technology transfer of all products from R&D to manufacturing
• Provide mentorship and supervision to staff to support professional growth

Requirements

• MS degree in Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences (Ph.D. preferred)
• 8-10 years of industrial experience in formulation, process development, and validation
• Experience in ophthalmic dosage preferred
• Strong technical reasoning and technology transfer skills
• Experience working alongside a manufacturing facility
• Experience working with contract research laboratories in fast-paced environments
• Proven problem-solving, troubleshooting, and critical thinking skills
• Advanced knowledge of laboratory equipment and tools
• Strong quantitative and organizational skills
