Manager of Double-Degree and Transfer Student Advising

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized academic advising and degree planning for double-degree and transfer students.
• Support students experiencing academic challenges by identifying options and developing progress plans.
• Develop and maintain ten-semester plans for double-degree students to ensure timely degree completion.
• Guide transfer students through their transition to Oberlin, including credit application and curriculum orientation.
• Organize programs, events, and advising initiatives to foster community and academic success.
• Develop and maintain advising resources, communications, and targeted outreach for specific student populations.
• Document all advising interactions and recommendations using academic advising software.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience providing academic advising or support for undergraduate students.
• Experience working effectively with diverse populations and people from different backgrounds.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for interacting with students, faculty, and families.
• Ability to work independently, exercise discretion, and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
• Proficiency in learning and navigating academic advising software and new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree.
• Familiarity with liberal arts and/or conservatory educational pathways.
