Manager of Development Operations and Stewardship

Responsibilities

• Lead operations and stewardship functions for the School of the Arts Development department.
• Manage direct mail and digital giving appeals, including Columbia Giving Day.
• Oversee the donor acknowledgement process and lead written reporting for named gifts.
• Coordinate annual cultivation events and the School’s periodic Gala, including list generation and implementation.
• Monitor fundraising projections, track progress toward goals, and prepare data for reporting.
• Reconcile unit expenses and coordinate budget activities with the Office of Finance.
• Serve as a key liaison between the School of the Arts and various University offices, including Finance, Facilities, and Alumni and Development.
• Provide administrative support to the Associate Dean, including managing calendars and travel reimbursements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of related experience in development or operations.
• Previous experience in higher education or a similarly complex institutional setting.
• Strong project management experience and understanding of the development process.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to handle highly confidential information with sound judgment.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed for events.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in event planning and data management.
