About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead daily Cultureware Production operations and define production schedules to meet cost, quality, and time targets
- Oversee procurement of raw materials, inventory control, shipping and receiving, and maintenance of production machinery
- Train, mentor, and support staff to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations
- Manage and maintain manufacturing facility systems including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and laboratory equipment
- Coordinate the build-out and repurposing of laboratory space to support company objectives
- Serve as Vice Chairman of the Safety Committee, instituting Hazard Communication Policies and ensuring OSHA compliance
- Conduct annual fire safety training and manage facility safety equipment like eye wash stations and safety showers
- Optimize facility operating costs by managing contractors and performing in-house repairs to minimize downtime
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Life Sciences, Operations, or an equivalent field
- 5+ years of experience in Cultureware Production and Facilities Operations
- Experience working within regulated manufacturing or biotech environments
- OSHA 10 certification
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
