About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage unit budgets, including revenue oversight, expense tracking, year-end procedures, and account reconciliation
- Develop budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with the management team
- Provide financial analysis and reporting for senior leadership and Forestry finance
- Coordinate human resources activities including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and performance management
- Oversee departmental purchasing and manage vendor contracts and licenses
- Provide operational leadership and support the implementation of strategic plans
- Collaborate on emergency preparedness, planning, and response coordination
- Manage administrative systems, facility rental bookings, and procurement of equipment
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline
- Completion of at least 7 of the 14 CPA academic prerequisites
- Minimum of two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in accounting and administrative management
- Class V Driver's License
- Level I First Aid Certificate
- Knowledge of the BC Forest Safety Council and completion of auditor training
- Working knowledge of the forest industry
- Willingness to acquire FoodSafe and Serving It Right certifications
