Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and empathetic people leadership to a diverse team of technicians and scientists
  • Oversee day-to-day lab workflows, sample lifecycle management, and instrument scheduling
  • Champion the creation of novel characterization methods for liquid and solid chemicals and materials
  • Re-prioritize characterization requests based on product development timelines to extract actionable insights
  • Manage the internal laboratory budget, forecast resource needs, and maintain vendor relationships

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience using and managing advanced material characterization instrumentation (SEM, FTIR, ICP, XRD)
  • 3+ years of experience directly leading analytical chemistry, materials science, or failure analysis laboratory teams
  • Proven track record of managing a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) or equivalent
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industrial metrology concepts and gauge R&R studies
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
