About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee manufacturing operations for an entire value stream, owning the annual operational plan and performance metrics including safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Lead and coach salaried and hourly team members, including Area Business Leaders, to achieve high performance and professional development.
- Drive continuous improvement by applying Lean manufacturing practices and the Appliance Production System to reduce waste and resolve inefficiencies.
- Manage department budgets and daily operating rhythms, including conducting start-up meetings and cascading critical information to the team.
- Ensure product quality by monitoring manufacturing processes, following control plans, and partnering with engineering to resolve defects.
- Promote a strong safety-minded culture through regular audits, behavior-based observations, and strict enforcement of safety procedures.
Requirements
- 5 years of leadership experience within a manufacturing operation.
- Strong technical acumen in manufacturing operations.
- Proven ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems in multi-functional settings.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to facilitate meetings and provide constructive feedback.
- Demonstrated experience in achieving business goals and implementing organizational change.
Preferred Qualifications
- BS in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical) or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing or plant operations.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or Master Black Belt certification.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing implementation and DMAIC methodologies.
