Manager, Legal Counsel (IP)

Responsibilities

• Support global trademark portfolio activities including clearance, filing coordination, prosecution tracking, and renewals.
• Conduct preliminary trademark searches and availability assessments in collaboration with internal and external counsel.
• Review and summarize trademark search reports to identify potential legal or commercial risks.
• Coordinate trademark filings, office action responses, oppositions, and cancellations with global external counsel.
• Draft and manage trademark-related legal documentation such as assignments, coexistence agreements, and consent letters.
• Maintain accurate trademark portfolio records through thorough docketing and correspondence management.
• Liaise with marketing, regulatory, and business teams regarding brand name reviews and launch timelines.
• Support trademark enforcement activities, including watch notices, infringement escalations, and counterfeit matters.
• Assist with trademark due diligence for acquisitions, divestitures, and corporate transactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Law (LL.B) or equivalent legal qualification.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in trademark legal support, prosecution, or IP portfolio management.
• Proven experience supporting global trademark portfolios within multinational corporations or law firms.
• Strong understanding of trademark lifecycle management, clearance processes, and enforcement coordination.
• Experience coordinating filings and prosecution matters across multiple jurisdictions.
• Proficiency in legal documentation and contract review related to trademark matters.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional certification or specialization in Intellectual Property Law or Trademark Practice.
• Experience working with IP management systems such as Anaqua or equivalent docketing tools.
• Experience in highly regulated industries such as consumer healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or FMCG.
• Experience working in shared services or GCC environments supporting global legal teams.
