Manager Legal

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of commercial contracts, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and execution.
• Provide strategic legal guidance to internal stakeholders on business operations and risk mitigation.
• Manage litigation and dispute resolution processes, including drafting criminal complaints and legal notices.
• Provide legal guidance on employment laws, HR policies, and disciplinary proceedings to ensure compliance with labor regulations.
• Mentor and provide performance feedback to Legal Associates, Senior Legal Associates, and Team Leads.
• Oversee legal operations, manage external counsel, and optimize legal spend.
• Develop and standardize contract templates, playbooks, and internal governance frameworks.
• Support cross-functional projects, including strategic initiatives, audits, and data governance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a premier law college.
• 15+ years of relevant legal experience, with a mix of law firm and in-house exposure.
• 5+ years in a leadership or supervisory role managing complex, strategic issues.
• Strong expertise in contract law, Indian employment/labor laws, and commercial/regulatory law.
• Proven experience in handling complex negotiations and dispute resolution.
• Ability to work flexibly to support business operations in US time zones.
• Excellent drafting, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master of Laws (LLM) degree.
• Experience in technology, data protection, and intellectual property laws.
• Experience working within multinational organizations and interacting with global stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tools.
