Manager-Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance

Responsibilities

• Oversee quality control of hospital grounds and off-campus facilities to ensure an aesthetically pleasing environment.
• Hire, train, coach, and conduct annual performance reviews for staff.
• Develop and prioritize daily work lists and weekly/monthly schedules for crew members and contractors.
• Manage landscape project expenditures by optimizing resource allocation and crew productivity.
• Identify insect, disease, and turf stress issues and develop effective remediation plans.
• Maintain partnerships with local nurseries and tree trimming companies to ensure high-quality products and timely deliveries.
• Supervise irrigation tasks, including setting clocks and reporting repairs to preserve landscapes.
• Ensure proper usage of safety equipment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or higher level degree.
• Five years of progressive landscaping leadership experience.
• Must obtain Certified Arborist certification within one year of hire.
• Strong knowledge of plant and turf identification, including disease and insect management.
• Ability to delegate tasks effectively and communicate professionally.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture or a related field.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
