Manager – Investment Banking Reconciliation

Responsibilities

• Lead reconciliation teams across multiple functions including FOBO, MF, cash, trade, position, and nostro reconciliations.
• Ensure operational excellence, quality, control compliance, and SLA adherence across all activities.
• Provide strategic oversight on break management, exception reporting, aged items, and operational risk mitigation.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across front office, operations, finance, technology, risk, audit, custodians, and fund administrators.
• Drive transformation initiatives including automation, process redesign, migrations, and productivity improvement.
• Ensure a robust governance and control framework for FOBO and MF reconciliation processes.
• Review team capacity, resourcing, and productivity metrics to optimize delivery.
• Lead audit responses, control reviews, and remediation planning.
• Develop team leads, managers, and analysts through coaching and performance management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, or a related field.
• 8–12+ years of experience in investment banking or financial operations reconciliations.
• Strong expertise in FOBO reconciliation and MF reconciliation.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams, stakeholders, and transformation programs.
• Strong governance, audit, risk management, and operational oversight capabilities.
• Excellent communication, people management, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and reconciliation/reporting tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field.
• Hands-on experience with reconciliation tools such as IntelliMatch or TLM.
• Deep understanding of investment banking products, mutual fund operations, and the trade lifecycle.
• Experience in break investigation, exception management, and root cause analysis.
