About the role
Responsibilities
- Participate in strategic planning, management, and deployment of infrastructure resources including server infrastructure, scientific instruments, HPC, AI, and cloud services
- Administer and maintain enterprise storage and server infrastructure (e.g., Box, RDS) ensuring high availability and security
- Manage data lifecycle in compliance with institutional policies and federal regulations including HIPAA
- Provide technical guidance, escalation support, and design scalable infrastructure solutions
- Oversee budget reporting, fiscal resources, and vendor contractual activities
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery, business continuity plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Manage personnel actions including hiring, performance evaluations, and training
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related discipline
- Six years of progressively responsible experience in a technical environment
- Expertise in design and management of complex technical systems
- In-depth knowledge of server hardware, software, and performance analysis
- Proficiency in server virtualization (e.g., VMWare)
- Experience with enterprise file system management and scripting methodologies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Microsoft server experience and certifications
- Knowledge of Active Directory/LDAP, DNS, and group policy
- Experience with enterprise shared storage and snapshot technologies
