Manager, Indirect Tax Advisory

Responsibilities

• Assess indirect tax positions and interpret business models to ensure global compliance.
• Analyze tax implications for new products, programs, and partnerships, driving implementation within internal systems.
• Research global indirect tax developments (VAT/GST) and execute plans to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Evaluate and work on contracts from an indirect tax advisory perspective.
• Manage end-to-end indirect tax projects, including scoping, budgeting, and strategic implementation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in Product, Commercial, Legal, and IT to build scalable, tax-compliant solutions.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors and oversee the reconciliation of revenue and VAT/GST with financials.
• Contribute to the long-term vision of the tax team and promote tax awareness across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Tax Economics, Law, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of indirect tax experience (experience in Big 4, top law firms, or major in-house roles is a plus).
• Solid technical knowledge of global VAT/GST in a global environment.
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to senior leadership.
• Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with indirect tax setup in ERP systems such as Oracle.
• Previous experience in APAC, EMEA, or US tax regions.
• Experience within the e-commerce or travel industry.
• Strong project management and organizational expertise.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and dynamic environment.
