Manager, Indirect Tax Advisor

Responsibilities

• Assess indirect tax positions and interpret business models to ensure global compliance.
• Analyze tax implications for new programs, products, and strategic partnerships.
• Research global indirect tax developments (VAT/GST) and implement necessary business or process changes.
• Manage end-to-end indirect tax projects, from scoping and budgeting to execution and implementation.
• Review and evaluate contracts from an indirect tax advisory perspective.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including Product, Commercial, Legal, and IT to drive scalable, tax-compliant solutions.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors and oversee the reconciliation of revenue and VAT/GST with financials.
• Contribute to the long-term strategic vision of the global tax team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Tax, Law, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of indirect tax experience (experience in Big 4, top law firms, or major in-house roles is a plus).
• Deep technical knowledge of global indirect taxes, specifically VAT and GST.
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to senior leadership.
• Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with indirect tax setup in ERP systems, such as Oracle.
• Previous experience working within the e-commerce or travel industries.
• Regional expertise in APAC, EMEA, or US tax landscapes.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and dynamic environment.
