Manager, HUB – IP (Patents)

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute patent search and analytics assignments, including patentability/novelty searches, Freedom to Operate (FTO) analyses, and invalidity assessments.
• Deliver authoritative insights and risk mitigation recommendations to IP Counsel, R&D leadership, and business stakeholders.
• Independently scope search strategies, craft sophisticated query frameworks, and validate multi-jurisdictional data across patent and non-patent literature.
• Apply deep scientific expertise to interpret technical disclosures and identify material prior art in chemistry, biochemistry, or life sciences.
• Provide quality review and methodological coaching to junior team members on a dotted-line basis.
• Develop reusable search templates, taxonomies, and competitive intelligence frameworks to improve workflow efficiency.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.
• 6-10 years of hands-on experience in patent search, prior-art analytics, and technology intelligence.
• Demonstrated expertise in high-complexity search assignments requiring independent judgment and multi-database triangulation.
• Proficiency in major patent and technical databases such as STN, Derwent Innovation, CAS, Espacenet, WIPO, or USPTO.
• Strong capabilities in non-patent literature searching, including scientific journals and regulatory filings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Registered Patent Agent (India/US/EU) status.
• Experience supporting consumer-health, pharma, or life-sciences domains.
• Advanced skills in data synthesis and generating concise, insight-driven reports.
• Familiarity with visualization tools and high proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
