Manager, Health & Safety

Responsibilities

• Lead the rollout and enhancement of health and safety initiatives across Canada to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Design and implement H&S policies, procedures, and frameworks that promote a safe and engaging workplace.
• Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations, including OHSA and WSIB/WCB requirements.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify gaps and implement corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and document findings for management and authorities.
• Champion a culture of safety by developing training, communication materials, and awareness campaigns.
• Monitor and report on H&S key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide actionable insights for leadership.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Operations, and Distribution, to align safety priorities.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a health and safety professional with expertise in H&S management.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian H&S regulations, including OHSA and WSIB/WCB.
• Demonstrated experience leading H&S projects in corporate, distribution, or industrial environments.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risk and interpret complex data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence leaders and frontline employees.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with global and North American counterparts.
• Willingness to travel 10-20%.

Preferred Qualifications

• JHSC Certification.
• Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation.
