Manager, Health and Safety

Responsibilities

• Lead all health and safety activities, education, and legislative compliance for the Georgetown facility
• Collaborate with peer groups to execute company safety policies and ensure compliance with OHSA/MOL standards
• Support, coach, and empower the management team and local health and safety committees
• Conduct frontline employee risk reviews, hazard assessments, and comprehensive risk assessments
• Maintain a regular floor presence to promote a positive safety culture and healthy working environment
• Guide site incident investigations and develop detailed reports with effective corrective actions
• Audit facilities for legislative and corporate compliance to ensure preventative measures are effective
• Support the deployment and integration of Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) methodologies

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Health and Safety or equivalent work experience
• 3-5 years of Health and Safety experience within a medium to large organization
• Thorough understanding of local and Ontario provincial regulations (OHSA/MOL)
• Knowledge of CSA standards and ISO 45001
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong communication, planning, and work organization skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) certification
• Experience with Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) and training delivery
• Understanding of operational learning methodologies
