Manager, Graphics Playout

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a 24/7 graphics playout team across multiple locations, including Manhattan and Englewood Cliffs
• Oversee the real-time execution of full-screen graphics, lower thirds, and other visual elements for live and recorded broadcasts
• Serve as the primary liaison between Engineering, Show Teams, Real-Time Graphics, and Editorial departments
• Manage a team of union-represented, non-union, and freelance employees while ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly to minimize on-air disruptions in high-pressure environments
• Coordinate with designers and production teams to deploy urgent breaking news graphics in real time
• Maintain quality control standards for design integrity, data accuracy, and system reliability

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in graphics playout within a live broadcast environment
• Minimum 3 years of experience focused on news programming
• At least 1 year of leadership, supervisory, or mentorship experience
• Proficiency with industry-standard graphics systems such as Vizrt (including Vizrt Trio), Ross, or Chyron
• Experience with newsroom systems like iNews and other broadcast workflows
• Proven ability to work in live studio and control room environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working across multiple news program formats and styles
• Advanced experience implementing new graphics technologies and workflows
• Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams in 24/7 operations
