About the role
Responsibilities
- Support government relations in California and lead efforts across the U.S. Southwest (Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico)
- Drive public engagement campaigns and build relationships with key stakeholders
- Partner with Public Affairs, Communications, Legal, and other business functions
- Translate complex policy issues into clear, actionable written updates
- Manage external consultants and coordinate with industry trade associations and peer companies
Requirements
- BS or BA from an accredited university
- 4+ years of experience in state-level government or corporate public policy
- Deep understanding of lobbying strategies and issue management
- Strong strategic thinking and polished advocacy skills
- Ability to travel 30-40% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
- Combined government and in-house experience
- Direct policy experience in employment or labor law
- Significant state-level experience in California
- Experience in the tech industry or on-demand economy
