About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operational and commercial activities for natural gas procurement across the data center portfolio
- Establish and maintain relationships with gas marketers, producers, and pipeline operators
- Navigate pipeline EBBs and manage end-to-end open season participation and interconnection requests
- Support the negotiation of commercial transactions, including gas supply, transportation, and precedent agreements
- Evaluate natural gas infrastructure options and utilize GIS mapping to analyze interconnection needs
- Coordinate with engineering and power teams to align on gas ramp schedules and equipment specifications
- Monitor gas market conditions, pricing, and regional pipeline capacity dynamics to provide market intelligence
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Energy Management, or a related field
- 5-7 years of experience in natural gas trading, scheduling, origination, or gas operations
- Established network of contacts across gas marketers, producers, and pipeline companies
- Experience negotiating and executing commercial agreements with gas suppliers and pipeline operators
- Strong understanding of pipeline transportation, nominations, scheduling, and contract mechanisms (ICAs, OBAs)
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent commercial and operational workflows
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to ERCOT, PJM, or other organized wholesale markets
- Technical understanding of natural gas-fired generation and gas infrastructure
- Knowledge of regulatory and environmental issues related to natural gas infrastructure development
- MBA or advanced degree
