About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary facilities engineering team, including electrical, mechanical, and project engineering staff.
  • Provide strategic and technical leadership for all building infrastructure systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
  • Develop and sustain comprehensive electrical safety programs and design standards that meet all regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the optimization of building automation systems (BAS) to improve energy efficiency and operational visibility.
  • Direct preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and extend asset life.
  • Lead long-term capital planning, including facility condition assessments and infrastructure investment prioritization.
  • Manage the facility’s infrastructure capital budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost control.
  • Oversee engineering and construction projects from scope development through commissioning and completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in facilities engineering or large-scale industrial facility operations.
  • Deep understanding of electrical systems, including distribution, protection, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong background in mechanical systems and HVAC, including design, troubleshooting, and energy conservation.
  • Proven experience with building automation systems (BAS) and controls architecture.
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems and engineering software.
  • Demonstrated experience in capital planning, budgeting, and project management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MS) in engineering or engineering management.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
