Manager Export Control

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement the export control system to ensure regulatory compliance regarding restricted commodities and international sanction laws
• Liaise with IATA and regulatory bodies to ensure the airline remains compliant with all export control and sanction regulations
• Act as the primary point of contact for cargo shipments in doubt and provide guidance and training to the cargo commercial team
• Manage the day-to-day export control system with a 24/7 team to prevent the acceptance of non-compliant cargo
• Oversee special commodity approvals, including live animals and other restricted goods
• Identify service failures and trends, working with stakeholders to implement robust preventive actions and mitigate risks
• Manage the cargo claims process in accordance with company policy to minimize business impact
• Analyze trends and implement proactive measures for loss prevention and risk escalation

Requirements

• Diploma in logistics, operations management, or a related discipline (University degree preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the aviation industry, specifically within air cargo operations
• Strong knowledge of air cargo handling, industry standards, and export control regulations
• Proven project management skills
• Experience working in a multicultural environment and engaging with senior internal and external stakeholders
