Manager, Equipment Engineering - Wet Etch/CMP

Responsibilities

• Manage the Wet Etch Equipment Engineering area, overseeing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, new equipment installations, and continuous performance improvement.
• Directly manage a team of Equipment Engineers and Technicians across a 24/7 production environment with 4-shift coverage.
• Drive and manage vendor activities, service contracts, and onsite Field Service Engineers (FSEs).
• Identify and initiate Continuous Improvement Programs (CIP) to improve equipment reliability, yield, and product cycle time.
• Manage department costs, including spare parts inventory, budget spending (AOP), and service contract optimization.
• Provide technical and non-technical coaching, mentoring, and performance management for engineering staff.
• Interface cross-functionally with Production, Process, R&D, Facilities, and Procurement groups.
• Monitor and assign critical equipment metrics such as Availability, MTBF, MTTR, and PM compliance.

Requirements

• 10+ years of direct hands-on semiconductor fab experience, specifically in the Wet Etch area.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a management or leadership role.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Electronics, Opto-electronics, Electro-mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong technical knowledge of Wet/CMP equipment and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Proven leadership skills, including project management, communication, and conflict resolution.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, high-urgency environment involving exposure to hazardous gases, chemicals, and high voltage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Cycle Time theories.
• Experience managing complex spare parts inventory and second-sourcing strategies.
