About the role
Responsibilities
- Own store technology delivery and operations, including feature development and on-call support for POS, clienteling, and payments
- Lead the launch and scaling of new stores and relocations by partnering with Retail Ops to stage devices and ensure seamless integrations
- Integrate payment gateways and clienteling platforms to deliver frictionless checkout and associate workflows
- Enable omnichannel store experiences by coordinating with OMS and eCommerce teams to support BOPIS, ship-from-store, and remote selling
- Maintain performance dashboards for latency, error budgets, and device health to prioritize backlogs and improve reliability
Requirements
- Proficiency in a modern programming language such as Java or JavaScript
- Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and relational databases
- Hands-on experience managing POS systems and clienteling applications, including device provisioning and release management
- Strong understanding of retail omnichannel operations (BOPIS, ship-from-store) and payment gateway integrations
- Proficiency with telemetry, instrumentation, and observability tools for monitoring app and device health
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools and an interest in applying AI/ML to retail scenarios
