About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end execution of engineering programs from concept and design through validation and launch
  • Manage program timelines, resource plans, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Oversee the design and development of structural parts and chassis for air-conditioners
  • Direct the development of tools and moulds for sheet metal and plastic components
  • Provide technical guidance to the structural design engineering team and manage CAD resource allocation
  • Conduct design reviews, action planning, and tolerance analysis
  • Perform DFM&A, structural testing, and material analysis for tools and moulds
  • Support suppliers and the supply chain regarding parts development and localization activities
  • Implement Design & Process FMEA and Root Cause Corrective Action (RRCA)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in design and development for parts, tools, and moulds
  • Proficiency in 3D/2D software including SolidWorks, ProE/Creo, AutoCAD, or Unigraphics Nx
  • Strong knowledge of DFM&A and structural, qualification, and reliability testing
  • Deep understanding of tool and mould development, including machining and material properties
  • Experience with dimensioning, tolerance analysis, and VAVE (Value Analysis Value Engineering)
  • Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma in Tool Design
  • Experience specifically with VRF or commercial product chassis design
