About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coordinate, and supervise comprehensive Industrial Safety and Occupational Health management at Mina Las Cuevas.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with Mexican legal regulations (Ley Federal del Trabajo, NOM-STPS) and corporate safety standards for all personnel, contractors, and visitors.
  • Design, register, and report on Safety and Health Management System activities, including inspections, program progress, and performance KPIs.
  • Conduct field inspections and audits to detect unsafe acts or conditions in routine and high-risk activities, ensuring strict follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Advise on risk analysis, special permits for critical activities, and lead accident/incident investigations to prevent recurrence.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness through effective communication across all organizational levels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Environmental, or Mining Engineering (or related field).
  • 5-8 years of experience as a Safety and Health Lead, preferably within the mining industry.
  • 5-8 years of experience working in underground mining environments.
  • 5-8 years of experience conducting field inspections.
  • Intermediate English proficiency.
  • Strong knowledge of Mexican Safety and Health regulations and ISO Management Systems.
  • Experience in risk management (identification, evaluation, and control) and KPI development.
  • Proven ability in accident investigation coordination and budget/inventory management.
  • Certified instructor status is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or specialization in HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment).
