Manager, Embedded Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Head a team responsible for embedded software development, testing, releases, and delivery.
• Manage and oversee software development projects to ensure they meet cost, schedule, and high-quality targets.
• Establish effective practices to attract, develop, motivate, and retain high-caliber software engineering staff.
• Manage staff loading to match program needs and supervise work assignments to ensure best practices.
• Identify and drive process improvement opportunities within the software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Participate in bid and project activities, including defining architectures and developing technical proposals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering).
• Minimum 10 years of experience as an embedded software developer, including working with hardware and board schematics.
• Minimum 5 years of experience leading or managing a software team through the full SDLC.
• Expertise in computer architecture and the development of real-time embedded software.
• Proficiency with software management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket.
• US Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain a US security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in a relevant technical field.
• Experience with earned value management systems.
• Experience with resource planning and the bid and proposal process.
