About the role
Responsibilities
- Head a team responsible for embedded software development, testing, releases, and delivery.
- Manage and oversee software development projects to ensure they meet cost, schedule, and high-quality targets.
- Establish effective practices to attract, develop, motivate, and retain high-caliber software engineering staff.
- Manage staff loading to match program needs and supervise work assignments to ensure best practices.
- Identify and drive process improvement opportunities within the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Participate in bid and project activities, including defining architectures and developing technical proposals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering).
- Minimum 10 years of experience as an embedded software developer, including working with hardware and board schematics.
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading or managing a software team through the full SDLC.
- Expertise in computer architecture and the development of real-time embedded software.
- Proficiency with software management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain a US security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in a relevant technical field.
- Experience with earned value management systems.
- Experience with resource planning and the bid and proposal process.
