Manager - Electrical Operation

Responsibilities

• Manage the operation of the Pumped Storage Plant (PSP) in accordance with generation schedules and reservoir availability
• Perform unit start/stop procedures in close coordination with clients and the Load Dispatch Centre
• Maximize resource utilization through the efficient use of turbines, pumps, and reservoirs
• Prepare critical operational reports, including Daily Performance, Generation, Water Utilization, and Breakdown reports
• Develop risk assessments and action plans for power generation activities in coordination with EHS representatives
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and assist system experts to minimize downtime during maintenance or breakdowns
• Prepare and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Local Operating Procedures to ensure safe and efficient plant operation
• Lead, motivate, and cross-train a technical workforce to ensure an effective and skilled team

Requirements

• B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in hydro power plants or PSP
• 3 to 5 years of experience as a Shift In-charge for a Hydro Plant or PSP with a minimum capacity of 100 MW
• Proven experience in the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of hydro power plants
• Strong technical knowledge of GIS, Generators, LT/MV systems, PLCs, and Electrical Protection Relays
• Proficiency in the English language with strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and engineering drawings

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
