About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide health and safety advice and assistance to project Line Supervisors
  • Audit Project EHS Programs and develop corrective actions to improve workplace safety
  • Support the development of site-specific safety training and orientations for workers, staff, and subcontractors
  • Review project plans and sites to identify safety-related risks before work commences
  • Liaise with external regulatory agencies, government inspectors, and subcontractors
  • Perform formal and informal inspections and audits on job sites
  • Mentor and coach craft and supervision regarding safety roles, responsibilities, and compliance
  • Lead accident, incident, and near-miss investigations and ensure proper documentation
  • Track and report safety-related statistics and maintain safety-related paperwork

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience coordinating and managing health and safety for construction projects
  • Proven experience in a leadership role
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in the Health and Safety field
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and relevant health and safety legislation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to access to nuclear facilities and federal information
  • Ability to obtain and maintain clearance and a badge for US Nuclear Power Plants and/or Department of Energy facilities
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
