Manager, eCommerce Technology

Responsibilities

• Lead the evolution of headless Shopify architecture, including frontend, API orchestration, and backend services
• Serve as the primary internal technical counterpart to external development partners
• Partner with Product teams to guide technical implementation for new features and integrations
• Establish data standards and API structures for revenue-related functionality
• Manage technical issue intake and prioritization in partnership with the CX team
• Oversee sprint-level technical planning, release governance, and deployment best practices
• Maintain documentation for systems architecture, data flows, and integration dependencies
• Monitor API reliability, middleware performance, and site performance metrics like Core Web Vitals
• Support governance of integrations across ERP, OMS, CRM, and payment gateways
• Identify and reduce technical debt to support long-term scalability

Requirements

• 6–9+ years of experience in ecommerce engineering or headless commerce environments
• Experience with headless Shopify Plus and API-driven architectures
• Hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js, or Hydrogen
• Experience partnering with outsourced development teams
• Experience supporting complex system integrations
• Ability to improve site performance and resolve production issues
• Working knowledge of analytics implementation (GA4, GTM, Amplitude)
• Strong analytical and systems-thinking mindset
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred
