Manager, Design & Development

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise teams of instructional designers, assessment developers, and educational technologists to ensure high performance and accountability.
• Oversee the design and development of competency-based learning and assessment experiences, ensuring alignment with program goals and quality standards.
• Manage project lifecycles, including planning staff assignments, adhering to timelines, and maintaining budgets.
• Use data-driven insights to identify trends and implement strategies for continuous improvement in curriculum and assessment content.
• Mentor the team in leveraging AI for curriculum and assessment design to foster innovation.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery and maintenance of high-quality learning products.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Curriculum Development, Educational Technology, or a related field.
• 5 years of relevant experience in instructional design or assessment development.
• Proven supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Proficiency with digital tools, learning management systems (LMS), and online production workflows.
• Demonstrated experience using AI in product design and development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, or a related field.
• Experience creating innovative, mobile-first, gamified, or non-linear learning experiences at scale.
• Knowledge of UI/UX design principles.
• Experience with process development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Understanding of the higher education landscape and competency-based education models.
