About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative, financial, and operational leadership for the Department of Applied Psychology and Human Development, the Jackman Institute of Child Study, and the OISE Psychology Clinic.
- Manage academic operations, including enrolment management, program planning, and student stipend budgeting.
- Oversee complex departmental budgets, research grants, and financial forecasting.
- Lead and manage administrative staff within a unionized environment, ensuring adherence to collective agreements and HR policies.
- Manage departmental space, facilities, and business process improvements.
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations to the Chair and Associate Chair regarding operational issues and resource management.
Requirements
- University degree in business, economics, financial management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior administrative role, preferably within a university setting.
- Proven experience in academic operations, including admissions and student funding.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex budgets, research grants, and financial reporting.
- Experience managing staff in a unionized environment and administering human resources policies.
- Proficiency with SAP-based Administrative Management Systems (AMS), such as FIS or HRIS.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to handle sensitive matters with diplomacy.
