About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative, financial, and operational leadership for the Department of Applied Psychology and Human Development, the Jackman Institute of Child Study, and the OISE Psychology Clinic.
  • Manage academic operations, including enrolment management, program planning, and student stipend budgeting.
  • Oversee complex departmental budgets, research grants, and financial forecasting.
  • Lead and manage administrative staff within a unionized environment, ensuring adherence to collective agreements and HR policies.
  • Manage departmental space, facilities, and business process improvements.
  • Provide strategic advice and recommendations to the Chair and Associate Chair regarding operational issues and resource management.

Requirements

  • University degree in business, economics, financial management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior administrative role, preferably within a university setting.
  • Proven experience in academic operations, including admissions and student funding.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex budgets, research grants, and financial reporting.
  • Experience managing staff in a unionized environment and administering human resources policies.
  • Proficiency with SAP-based Administrative Management Systems (AMS), such as FIS or HRIS.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to handle sensitive matters with diplomacy.
